Diners Club Tees Off with the 2015 BMW New Zealand Open

19 November 2014

Diners Club New Zealand today (Wednesday, November 19) announced its sponsorship of New Zealand’s premier golf event - the 2015 BMW New Zealand Open.

Acquired by The Warehouse Group in March 2014, Diners Club NZ is a dedicated supporter of golf in New Zealand and the three-year sponsorship deal further cements its commitment to the sport. The BMW New Zealand Open is an iconic event on the New Zealand sporting calendar, and Diners Club NZ is proud to support the tournament.

“Diners Club New Zealand has a long-standing association with New Zealand Golf, so we’re thrilled that The Warehouse Group has committed to this by extending sponsorship support to this flagship golf event,” said Hadyn Halls, Chief Operating Officer for The Warehouse Group Financial Services.

“The 2015 BMW New Zealand Open takes place in spectacular surroundings in Queenstown and showcases the very best of New Zealand as well as golf’s leading talent, and that’s something we’re delighted to be a part of,” he added.

Tournament Director Michael Glading said the BMW New Zealand Open was “delighted” to welcome Diners Club New Zealand to the event. “Diners Club joins our ‘family’ of major sponsors, without whom we would not be in a position to stage an event of this calibre,” he said.

Hosted at two golf courses in Queenstown – The Hills and Millbrook Resort – from the 12th to the 15th March 2015, the tournament is a tier one event on the PGA Tour of Australia which also incorporates a unique Pro-Am format that brings together a prestigious blend of professional and amateur golfers.

As part of its event sponsorship, Diners Club NZ is offering NZ Golf Diners Club cardmembers three unprecedented prizes in a Spend & Win promotion. Each prize features an amateur playing spot partnering with a professional in the Pro-Am and is valued at over $10,000.

“Our golf cardmembers are not only huge supporters and spectators of golf, but they also love to play, so we’re excited to be able to offer them the playing opportunity of a lifetime,” said Halls.

NZ Golf Diners Club cardmembers will go into the three prize draws simply by using their card. They’ll receive one automatic entry for every $100 accumulated spend on their card during the month before each draw. The first draw will take place at the beginning of December, the second at the beginning of January and the third at the beginning of February.

In addition to the 2015 BMW New Zealand Open, Diners Club NZ proudly sponsors numerous golf tournaments around the country including the ISPS Handa NZ Women’s Open (Christchurch at the end of February, beginning of March), the Warkworth Women’s Pro-Am (March) and the National Maori Golf Championships (Taupo in April).
